Imperva/VirusTotal Timeline

I spent a great deal of the 3rd of January writing for the ESET Threatblog, trying to summarize the issues around Imperva’s inappropriate use of VirusTotal quasi-testing. If nothing else, you may find the timeline around the controversy useful and interesting, as it includes most of the coverage from a variety of sources and resources:

Max Eddy’s article yesterday for PC Magazine is particularly interesting in that most of the people he asked for comment represented mainstream testers rather than vendors (with the exception of Kaspersky). While the comments from AV-Test, AV-Comparatives, NSS Labs and Dennis Labs are interesting and valid in themselves, they do make me wonder whether AMTSO has any plans to comment on the issue:
